Their mission is to help bring creative projects to life and is an educational site.  It is a place that will help artists, filmmaker, musicians, designers, as well as other creators, find the support and resources they need to bring their ideas to reality.  To date, tens of thousands of projects that are creative, big and small, have come to life with the support of the Kickstarter community.  And it is for students in grades 3 to 8.

You can go to the Last Minute Study Guide for all the information on getting to start on your project.   The site was originally started by Dr. Mary Paul, Ph.D.  She has been creating and then documenting this concept for quite a while.  She has several “mock-up” drawings of this app, which offers designers with an idea of how the idea will look once brought into production.   This is advantageous for creating any needed modifications as well as adjustments or improvements; thus, promoting a more satisfactory and overall accommodating app.   This entire concept is a lot like Crowdfunding except it is for younger students who are just starting out.

Last Minute Guide

Although the programming has not yet been developed and is still in the stages of development, here is the possible operation as follows:

Last Minute Guide is the primary function and is to provide guided review and practice for the skills that are the building block of education. These are skills that will be tested on state tests in math, writing, and comprehension. The user will review the skills and concepts in a very short period and become comfortable learning about each skill and what it is used for.  The user will see how every skill works in sentences paragraphs and stories of different lengths.

Teaching skills

Each skill starts the user with the same friendly guided reviews and then five chances to practice the skill.  Each practice is a little harder.  The review and practice of the app will aid the user in practicing and improving skills.  The app will also prepare the user for tests that are given during the year.  The practice will, in part, be like the state test answering multiple-choice and open-ended questions.

This is a unique way of teaching young students about the internet, how to develop apps and use the entire process to raise money to develop their creative projects.
