Is Business School and MBA Degrees Worth It?

Every year millions of students in all around the world enroll in business schools and MBA degrees hoping for a better future. It is a well-known fact that many graduates and business school alumni; they are able to to find many better-paid jobs and have better careers, driving the enrollments to business schools and MBA programs, more and more higher every year. But, is the business school; the general business studies programs and MBA degrees actually worth it?

One of the biggest factors to decide if your business or MBA degree will worth it or not is “the location”. Students must understand that the reports of executive MBA graduates that starts making 200+K USD per year after MBA degrees usually have MBA degrees in the United States or the United Kingdom or Canada MBA degrees. Students who completed their MBA degrees in other countries, unfortunately, do not report that higher amounts of earning after they finish their MBA studies. That is why where did you do your MBA studies is very important. In fact, if you follow the news closely, you will see that MBA programs in Business schools in India, China, some of the South American universities and business and some European business schools produce as many unemployed MBA degree holders as they did produce MBA degree holders with well-paid and well-respected jobs. It is a matter of fact the more than 9 out of 10 MBA graduates in India is basically unemployable. The biggest reason for this is obviously the low quality of education and lack of training.

The other reason that will decide if you can land a well-paid and well-respected MBA job is the accreditation and recognition of your MBA program. Of course, there are big names of MBA schools that almost everybody on the earth knows, like Harvard Business School MBA programs, Stanford, Columbia Business School, or European counterparts, such as INSEAD, IE Business School etc. If you did your MBA programs from one of these business schools, surely you have a better chance of landing a big job. But if you did not, your employer will want to check the accreditation and recognition of your business school to understand better. If your business school is accredited, preferably by one of the biggest top-3 MBA accreditation bodies and have a good reputation, you will have a better chance of landing a big job.

Still, in one word, to answer this question, we can say that an MBA degree still worths it. MBA Reviews recently run a survey among recent MBA graduates to understand if their MBA degree was worth it or not. The results were surprising as well as being considered a good news for the future. In the survey, more than 90{e4e568a6e655b6eb0a3c952dc9cd51bfca0536d6e0dd3b7ce47e34a6a4b4a91e} of the participants said they their MBA was well worth it and they are happy that they did MBA. So if you are also considering whether to do an MBA or not or if you are on the edge, this may a sign for you. Go for that MBA and go well for it! Good luck.
